Victor Henriquez (charango, guitar, vocals) and Paddy Anderson (flamenco guitar, vocals) are Los Dramaticos.
They joined forces in 2012 at the legendary Teatro Cabaret Bar in Belfast where they had been performing separately as resident artists.
The marriage of flamenco guitar, charango (a 10-stringed Andean lute) and harmonised vocals was a fruitful one and continues to be the foundation of their music.
Los Dramaticos have been performing at festivals around Ireland and in long running residencies in their home city of Belfast for the past number of years: committed ambassadors of Latin music and flamenco.
Los Dramaticos play mainly as a duo, and also as a trio or quartet, collaborating with percussionists and dancers depending on the occasion. They also offer their services from time to time to private clients for weddings and corporate events.
The Fire in the Blood show is on tour in Ireland in 2019/2020 in theatres and Arts centres.
Los Dramaticos perform songs and instrumental pieces from around the Spanish speaking world, especially Latin America and Spain. Their sound is a fusion of Spanish flamenco guitar and Andean charango.
This reflects their heritage; Victor is from Valparaíso in Chile and has imbibed Latin music from childhood, gravitating towards the traditional charango by his teenage years.
Paddy’s chosen artistic path is flamenco, one which began in Seville 20 years ago, and developed during his many years living and studying music in Granada, Andalucia. Paddy is originally from Killinchy, Co.Down, Ireland.
